The combined technology of computer assisted tomography or CAT scans and positron emission tomography or PET scans may detect the cancer and other diseases easily.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania showed a new combination of both the scan mechanisms.
They termed it as ‘Time of Flight Technology’. Philips Medical Systems launched it. It is being used in many hospitals in different countries.
The technology is mainly helpful for obese patients. It helps in the revealing and diagnosis of tumors growth in body. Although, it uses, most of the times, in cancer patients. It may be helpful in the fields of cardiology and neurology.
