The Researchers at the University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center have found a unique solution to the problem by using the decorated needles. The needles decorated with butterflies, flowers and smiley faces reduced the stress and aversion in patients. Wilmer Sibbitt, a professor in UNM’s School of Medicine, said:The decorated medical devices likely form a neurophysiological intervention, resulting in stimulation of brain areas usually not associated with fear, anxiety and aversion. The decorated needles are an effective way to overcome the needle phobia. When you will be visiting your doctor next time, don’t get surprised if the doctor injects you with a decorated needle.
