III-Nitride based LEDs Can Kill Bugs

Sensor Electronic Technology Inc. (SETI), sole supplier of DUV LED-based solutions, in collaboration with Seoul Optodevice Company has developed deep ultraviolet light emitting diodes for varied applications, including biomedical and clinical. These advanced III-Nitride based LEDs produce a wavelength of 247nm to 365nm that could be used extensively for various applications like bacterial contamination sterilisation, water treatment, wound debridements and biomedical diagnostics. The best part is that the UV LEDs are non-toxic, compact, rugged, tunable, and directional radiation sources.
