The world’s first needle-sized single-rod implantable contraceptive, Implanon, has got the FDA’s thumbs up which would be a news of relief for the women who are longing for a long-term solution to avoid pregnancy.
Toon Wilderbeek, Akzo Nobel’s Board member responsible for Pharma said:
Implanon is a state-of-the-art contraceptive which further demonstrates Organon’s ongoing commitment to continue its leadership position in gynaecology. We are excited about the FDA’s approval for Implanon, which represents a real advance in contraceptive technology and will provide women with a new level of confidence in contraception.
Implanon prevent the ovulation by releasing progestin and it can even help some women get rid of their monthly menses.
