Intellidrug: An intelligent drug dispensing tooth

Intellidrug is an IST program and is a computerized device that is about the size of a tooth. The device can be implanted in the mouth of the patient and it can then deliver regular doses of medications. The system consists of a medication release mechanism, a microprocessor that makes the decisions and the dosage program, micro-sensors that can determine the concentration of selected medications in the blood stream, micro-actuators to release standard quantities of medications and a reservoir which holds the medication. The device also has a remote control which tells the patient and the physician that the reservoir is empty and need to be refilled. With so many functions this device is surely a very intelligent drug dispensing system. Any body having this implant will surely get well soon…!
