micro-sensors_48Now, it will be soon possible to make quick and convenient diagnostics at home. The scientists at the University of Arkansas have developed a micro-sensor that monitors important signs including respiration, heart rate, ECG, and body temperature and these sensors can easily be incorporated into wearable garments using the organic flexible technology.

The two types of organic micro-sensors developed are temperature and strain that make use of molecule pentacene as the organic semiconductor and sensing device. The strain sensor will monitor the respiration rate. The patient’s statistics is timely tracked back to the information hub via Bluetooth and WLAN. This will enable the doctors to spontaneously respond to the patient’s health conditions.

This is indeed a breakthrough achievement that will really help doctors a lot in treating the patients timely.
