Rheolog, a new device to measure blood viscosity

Rheologics introduced a research device in the year 2001 for measuring the biophysical properties of circulating blood. The ‘Rheolog’ measures the rheological properties of blood in an environment that imitates blood flow in the human vascular system. Dual riser tube technology combined with advanced microprocessors and proprietary algorithms, the innovative scanning capillary viscometer of the device picks up patient’s blood viscosity. The Rheolog enables researchers and doctors to get an accurate blood viscosity profile in no time in the lab. This is the first disposable device of its kind that decreases clean-up and removes the contamination and operational errors. The new beta-version about to be finalized for commercial process.
